Terms of the haul

Revised

These terms apply when you use gonerjunk.com, send us photos for a price, book a pickup, leave your email for the ZIP list or send us a note.

Where Goner stands right now

Goner is brand-new in LA, and loud about it. Crews that cleared our checklist do the lifting. Asking for a price gets you a written number, and no money moves until you say DEAL and the pile is actually gone.

Asking costs nothing

Sending photos, asking for a price or joining the ZIP list is free and ties you to nothing: no contract, no charge. Money only changes hands after you accept a written price (reply DEAL or tap Accept) and the crew has finished the job.

Our prices and the neighborhoods we cover can change. A price we've already locked in writing still holds for its 14 days. If a change affects you, you'll hear about it by email first. If we ever stop offering pickups, we'll say so and delete your information.

Who does the lifting

Every job is done by an independent LA hauling company that cleared our checklist. Goner itself holds no hauling permit; the crew company does, and your confirmation names it before anyone shows up. Any part of a job that needs a permit or a license is handled only by a crew company that has one.

Your price and the 14-day lock

The price we confirm by email is what you pay for 14 days, as long as what's there matches your photos or list. Extra stuff gets priced at the same rates before anyone lifts it, and you can say no. Above the 3rd floor with no elevator, carry-out adds $25 per extra flight, and you'll see that before you book.

The rate card we stick to

Whatever the Price Wall says on the day you ask is what we charge for that request. The only way your written price changes is if the pile turns out different from your photos or description.

Paying

There's no deposit, and we never take card details at booking. Once the crew marks the job done, we email a secure payment link (card, Apple Pay or Google Pay). No money moves unless you replied DEAL or tapped Accept first.

Windows, late crews and changing plans

We only offer windows a partner crew can really make, two hours each. If the crew shows up more than 60 minutes after your confirmed window without a heads-up, we take $25 off. During the launch period, cancelling or rescheduling is free at any time, and we'll announce any change to that ahead of time.

Getting to the stuff

Crews carry from anywhere on the property, up to three flights, when access is safe. If everything is outside or in an open garage and you've told us what goes and what stays, you don't have to be home. Otherwise, someone 18 or older should be there to point and lock up.

What can't ride with us

Crews leave these behind and tell you where they can go:

  • Hazardous waste: paint, solvents, pool chemicals, motor oil, propane tanks, batteries, asbestos, medical waste
  • Construction and demolition debris, dirt, concrete, rock and roofing
  • Cars, boats and trailers
  • Built-ins that need demolition
  • Items with active bedbugs or mold, and biohazard cleanups
  • Buildings with 5+ units and businesses, until LA Sanitation confirms
  • ZIPs outside the launch list

If something gets damaged

Let us know within 48 hours, with a photo. Every partner crew has to carry liability insurance before we book it. We take up the claim with the crew's company and keep you posted until it's settled.

Limits on what we owe

The site itself comes with no promises beyond the ones written here. To the extent the law lets us, we aren't responsible for indirect or knock-on losses. Your consumer protection rights stay fully yours; nothing on this page chips away at them.
