Privacy, said plainly

Revised

Here's what Goner keeps when you ask for a price, what it's for, and the switches you control. We hang on to as little as the job needs, and we never put any of it up for sale.

The short version

If you only read one part, read this:

  • Your details are used to price, book and finish your pickup.
  • Nobody buys your information from us, and it never goes out to ads that follow you around the web.
  • Photos lose their location data on the way in and are erased 90 days after your request.
  • A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser switches ad measurement off for you, automatically.

What lands on our side

Only what you hand us, plus a little about how you found us:

  • Form answers: first name, email, phone number if you add one, ZIP, where the pile sits, building type, timing and your notes
  • Notes written on our Contact page: your name, your email and what you said
  • Photos you upload, and anything you tap in the Pile Pricer
  • The page that sent you here, any campaign tags in your link (like utm_source), and an ad click ID when the link carries one
  • Visit counts with no cookies: pages opened, rough country, kind of device

Your photos

We look at your photos to price the pile, plan the truck and show the crew what's coming. Location data gets scrubbed out of them, and they're erased 90 days after your request. They never show up in an ad or anywhere public unless you give us written permission.

What it's for

Pricing your pile, booking a crew, emailing your price, pickup updates and payment link, answering the notes you send us, keeping a record of the price we locked and what we promised, and figuring out which of our pages and ads actually bring people in.

How we count visits

Our visit counter runs on our own domain. It sets no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites. gonerjunk.com carries no outside ad pixels, chat bubbles or screen recorders, so no other company gets to collect what you do here over time or across the web.

Ad measurement, and when it stays off

Came in from an ad and then sent us a form? Our server may send that ad platform a bare-bones note that a request happened, so we can tell which ads are worth paying for. That note only goes out after a form, only from our server, and with as little in it as possible. It stays home whenever your browser waves the Global Privacy Control flag, and once you've flipped the switch under “Keep my clicks to myself” below.

The crew doing your pickup

Once you book, the one partner hauling company doing the job gets your first name, phone number, pickup address, window and photos. Your confirmation names that company, and they may use your details for your pickup and nothing else.

Companies that help us run Goner

A few service providers handle pieces of the work, under contracts that keep your data on a short leash. Personal information is never sold, and none of it feeds cross-context behavioral advertising, either.

  • Web hosting, on servers located in the US
  • An email sender that delivers your price, pickup updates and payment link
  • Stripe, to take your payment by link after the job
  • An alert tool that tells our team a new request came in

How long we hang on to it

Request records stick around for 24 months at the most. Then we delete them, or scrub them until nothing points back to you. Photos go sooner, at 90 days. If Goner ever stops doing pickups, everyone on our list hears it from us, and their personal information is gone within 30 days.

Seeing, fixing or erasing your info

Want to see what we hold about you, fix it or erase it? Ask on our Contact page. We'll check it's really you, then take care of it.

Keep my clicks to myself

A Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser reads to us as you saying no to any selling or sharing, no questions asked. “Do Not Track” settings don't change anything else here, because the protections on this page already cover everybody. Rather use a switch? Here's one for this browser:

Grown-ups only

Goner is for adults. Nobody under 16 should be sending us anything, and we never knowingly collect personal information from kids that age.

When this page changes

The revision date up top changes with it, and when a change really matters, everyone on our list hears about it by email.

Who's behind Goner

Goner, a new junk removal company in the City of Los Angeles, runs this site. We set the prices, book crews that passed our checklist and stand behind every job. Questions about this page? Scribble them on the note pad at our Contact page; answers come back by email.
