Prices

How does a photo turn into a price?

Send up to six photos, or tap items in the Pile Pricer. We look at what's there, how big it is and where it's sitting, then email you one all-in number. Between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. we aim to reply within 30 minutes. After hours, expect it by 8:30 the next morning.

Is the price going to change when the crew shows up?

Not for anything in your photos. The price we confirm in writing holds for 14 days. If there's extra stuff on site, the crew prices only the extra, using the same rates as our Price Wall, and asks before lifting it. You can say no.

When do I pay, and how?

After the job. Once the crew is done, we email you a secure payment link (card, Apple Pay or Google Pay). There's no deposit, and we don't ask for card details when you book.

Isn't the city pickup free?

Yes, for City of LA homes with city trash service. LA Sanitation picks up bulky items at the curb on your trash day if you book through MyLA311 or 311 at least a business day ahead. If you can get it to the curb and wait, use it. We're for upstairs couches, garage piles and Saturday deadlines.

Pickup day

How fast can you come?

As soon as today when a partner crew has an open slot. We only show windows that are actually open. Windows are two hours long, usually between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Same-day costs the same as next week.

Who actually shows up?

An independent LA hauling company that passed our checklist: a current City of LA AB 939 hauler permit, commercial auto and general liability insurance, two people per truck, and drop-off photos and tickets for every load. Goner doesn't own trucks. Your confirmation names the company that's coming.

Do you carry stuff out of the house?

Yes. Garage, backyard, bedroom, balcony, up to three flights of stairs, all included. Beds and tables get taken apart if needed. Above the 3rd floor with no elevator, it's $25 per extra flight, and we'll tell you before you book.

Do I need to be home?

Not if the stuff is outside or in an open garage and you've told us what goes and what stays. Otherwise, someone 18 or older should be there to point and lock up.

What if the crew is late or I need to cancel?

If the crew arrives more than 60 minutes after your window without a heads-up, we take $25 off. During our launch period you can cancel or reschedule for free, any time.

What if something gets damaged?

Send us a photo of it within 48 hours. Partner crews must carry liability insurance before we book them. We'll handle the claim with the crew's company and keep you posted until it's settled.

Do you do big cleanouts?

Yes, whole-truck and multi-truck jobs. Send photos of every room or a 30-second video walk-through, and we'll lock a price the same way. Estate cleanouts get extra time and a calm crew.

What we take

What won't you take?

Paint, solvents, pool chemicals, motor oil, propane tanks, batteries, asbestos, medical waste, construction and demolition debris, dirt, concrete, rock, roofing, vehicles, and anything with active bedbugs or mold. Household chemicals can go to an LA S.A.F.E. Center.

I'm buying a new mattress. Do I need you?

Maybe not. In California, stores that deliver a new mattress generally have to offer to take the old one away at no extra charge, so ask at checkout. For a mattress with no delivery attached, we're $109.

Where it goes

Where does my stuff go?

Donation first, if an outlet will take it that day. Metal, appliances, electronics and mattresses go to recyclers. What's left goes to a permitted transfer station. You get an email with drop-off photos and any receipt or scale ticket the crew was handed.

Can I get a donation receipt for taxes?

Sometimes. Charities decide what they accept and how they issue receipts, and a receipt may come in the crew's name. If you need one in your name, tell us before pickup and we'll tell you honestly whether that's possible for your items.

Areas and buildings

I live in an apartment building. Can you come?

For buildings with 1–4 units, yes. For buildings with 5 or more units, the city's commercial franchise rules apply, and we're confirming with LA Sanitation what a permitted hauler may take. Send your photo anyway and we'll give you a straight answer the same day.

Which areas do you serve?

The City of Los Angeles, starting with the Westside, Central LA, Northeast LA and the South Valley. Neighboring cities like Santa Monica, Culver City, Burbank and Glendale have their own hauling rules, so the ZIP checker will tell you whether we can come yet.

About Goner

Do you need my phone number?

No. Your price, your windows and every update come by email. Add a number only if you want the crew doing your pickup to have it. We don't sell your info.

Who is Goner?

A new Los Angeles company. We book local crews that pass our checklist, set the prices and stand behind them. Something we missed? Holler at us on the Contact page. Answers come back by email.

Brand-new in LA.No money until it's gone.

Loud about it, too. Crews that passed our checklist do the lifting. No money moves until you say DEAL and the pile is actually gone.
